At Bunny Haven Rescue, we know that bonding rabbits can be a sensitive process. Rabbits are social animals, but they can also be territorial, so introductions should be handled carefully, patiently, and with experienced supervision.
With 30+ years of rabbit bonding experience, we provide matchmaking and in-home bonding designed around each rabbit's individual personality, comfort, and safety.
One of the most important parts of successful bonding is finding the right match.
Your family is part of the matchmaking process. You'll be there to watch your rabbit meet potential companions, see their interactions, and learn what their body language is telling us.
You may have a favorite, but ultimately:
The rabbit chooses their companion, not the human.
Once your rabbit shows us who they are most compatible with, the bonding process can begin.
Our bonding is done in a home environment with an experienced rabbit bonder - not in an unattended facility.
Some bonding programs leave rabbits alone overnight in a facility. We do not.
Rabbits staying with Bunny Haven Rescue are in the home of an experienced bonder with someone present 24/7, including overnight, so their behavior, comfort, and safety can be closely monitored.
During bonding:
An experienced bonder knows when rabbits are communicating normally and when intervention is necessary.
For everyone's safety:
Because fleas can be brought in through other pets, clothing, outdoor exposure, and even hay, we strongly recommend rabbit-safe flea prevention before bonding begins.
Some rabbits connect quickly; others need more time. Bonding can never be guaranteed, and not every pair will be compatible.
We don't rush the process to meet a deadline. Our priority is always the rabbits' safety, comfort, and long-term compatibility.
A compatible bonded partner can provide companionship, mutual grooming, comfort, confidence, enrichment, and reduced loneliness.
For many rabbits, finding the right companion can make an incredible difference in their quality of life.

Our goal isn't simply to put two rabbits together. It's to help your rabbit choose the right companion and give that relationship the time and supervision it needs to become a lasting bond.
Our experienced matchmaker with 30+ years experience helps identify compatible rabbits based on their personalities and interactions. Your family can share which bunnies you’re interested in and take part in matchmaking, but the rabbits’ comfort and connection guide the final match.
We never force a companionship or bonding, so please be prepared that one rabbit may not accept the other.
If you’re hoping to adopt two, we highly recommend choosing an already-bonded pair.
